Poem

This Poem made me confused. I was utterly baffled by the word choice of the author. Even after analyzing it for about ten minutes I could not find any inner meaning, or symbolism.

Gritchen

"I'm going to win the fifty yard dash this year" I brag to Rosie and Mary Louise.
"Definitely" replied Rosie
"Hazel is slow, she can't run at all" Piped up Mary. Even though I knew I didn't have a chance. Hazel was fast, but I knew that her dad was faster, he could even beat her to Amsterdam Avenue, when she has a two fire hydrant head-start, and he's hands are in his pockets while whistling. I could tell everyone that, but I'm not that mean. I may be the "leader" of Mary and Rosie, but deep down, I think I'm the saddest girl in school. I just cant pull my self together, no matter how hard I try in school, it's not good enough for my parents. Her family is perfect, I don't get why my family can't be like that.
